I was experimenting with sample length and opposing notes and this combination unexpectedly (for me at least) led to a melody that was decidedly elated. I was attempting to stay away from the 'obvious' Western melodical progressions - you know the ones I mean; when you hear the first three notes of a song for the first time and instinctively know what the fourth note will be before you hear it - and it worked for this loop.
